Recorded on a cell phone in New York City and in negative exposure, these videos illuminate otherspace; the space not usually considered. The work is taped on our daily commutes in transit; on the subway, in taxis and buses, over inter-Borough bridges, near airports, and refineries in New York City where we live. Within this monotonous routine that occupies our everyday habitual experience lies a space so interconnected to our awareness we are not mindful of it. Visually, the work resembles a time-based painting. Here however, gestures are generated through the use of actual light.
